One of Jamaica’s national dish happens to be ackee and salt fish. Ackee is a bright red fruit that opens up to reveal, three large black seeds accompanied by a soft and creamy white flesh. Ackees are often prepared in a similar fashion as vegetables. When cooked ackees resemble the texture and appearance of scrambled eggs, making them a popular breakfast delicacy.
